Treasured Moments

I can't believe this! This just tops my day! I just spent an hour, writing about my day. It felt so good to get it out and now!!!!! I pushed the wrong button and deleted it AAAAHHHHH!!!!!

I guess I am going to try this again...

Telemarketers. I finally got the number of a friend I haven't talked to in like 4 years and had time to call her (after the following blog you will see why it took so long.) Her voice mail picked up while my other line was ringing. Thinking it was her calling me back I hung up and answered it without leaving a message. It wasn't her. Now I have to call back and she's is going to be like, "Who keeps calling me from this wierd #." I'll try back later, in the mean time let me run down the "unbelievable" day I had with my two lovely children.

7:30 Zoe was dry! Wooo Hooo!!!

9:15 I take Zoe to school. It was raining so I parked by the curb to run her in real quick. I told William to stay buckled in I would be right back. Well, 60 seconds later guess who's in the driver's seat? No, the car wasn't running and the keys were with me. Yes, the car was locked so no one would steal him....

9:45 We went to run some errands. William gets out of his seat belt again. This time I had to revert to the harness which he is old enough to be out of. Maybe agewise, but not mentally. I never had this much trouble with Zoe. She got out like one time, and all I had to say was, "If you don't stay in your seatbelt the police will take mommy to jail." I guess William doesn't care.

The rest of the day was pretty downhill from there.

11am-6:30pm

We got William this new "toy box". It holds toys but it isn't a box, instead it is shaped like stairs with pull out storage bins underneath. (IKEA) But to a 3 year old it's like a stairway to heaven. Literally! I thought he was going to kill himself. We have had this about 2 months and today was the 1st time I caught him climbing on it. He got in trouble of course and the day goes on. Later in the afternoon I went to check on the kids in Will's room. I heard Zoe say, "William you climbed as high as the sky." I walked in and she was right behind him and he was holding onto the blind cord like he was fixing to swing across the room. I guess we will be finding a better and safer place for that very creative but not to kid friendly piece of equipment.

I was on to cooking dinner. I thought maybe the mayhem had ceased. Well that was very short lived. The door was shut in Zoe's room, which I usually don't allow, but they were being so good. I just let them be. I conducted the periodic check to make sure everything was on the up and up. During one interval crying broke out and evidently they had been jumping on the bed. Well you know the old saying, "It's always fun until someone gets hurt." Well guess what monkey fell off the bead and hit his head. Good guess, William.

Fastforward a mere 20 minutes for the next exciting episode....The phone rang, which is like a kid MAGNET! As soon as you answer they stick to you like glue and can only argue then and there as loud as possible. It was a business call and I managed to break away to take this quick call in "quiet". A few minutes later I walk back in to check on them while I wrap up the phone call (5 minutes tops) and it went something like this. William was in my desk chair, Zoe was spinning him, they saw me, she let go, he tried to get out in mid spin and the chair fell with him in it. Guess who hit their head again? I was like, "I got go my kid just fell!" Whoever said working from home is great didn't do it with a 3 and 4 year old.

Needless to say they were sent to there rooms for a very long time. I went to check on them about 10 minutes later and Will was laying in the floor motionless. I thought oh my God. What if he had a concusion and fell asleep!!! Okay freaked out over nothing. I forgot I had given him some Benedryl for allergies earlier and it just caught up with him. I woke him up though because it was too late for a nap and brought him in the kitchen with me so I could finally finish dinner.

From there it was dinner, bath, bed by 7pm.

Oh by the way, I do have a husband. On his way home he recomended whiskey, which I have to say I indulged on. He of course left again at 8:30 and I am alone again. But this time it is quiet. I think I deserve a little me time.
