Thelma & Louise

It's been a busy last few weeks. My husband and I went to a house in the "mountains" in Oklahoma with some friends one weekend. There was supposed to be an "Artic Blast" with ice/snow. No frozen stuff really, just some pretty cold weather. My husband did manage to back into a tree and mess up his bumper. No he wasn't drunk. Then later he was bringing me a water to the hot tub and slipped on some black ice. We are pretty sure he cracked a rib and he had a really nasty bruise. No he wasn't drunk. Let me see what else.... I learned to play Texas Hold 'Em, which I won twice. We wasted 2 hours watching Elizabethtown. It wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. Defininately not what I expected from Cameron Crow.

This past weekend I went to Shreveport with some friends. I have to say it was a lot of fun. I won right when we got there. Whoo Hooo! When we went to check in that was a different story. Some how they only had 2 rooms left, luckily we had "reservations for 2 rooms". I say that because they had the rooms, but the exact reservation with the number of beds didn't really hold up. All they had left were 2 rooms with A king size bed. There were 7 of us. We were told that they could bring in a roll away. That takes care of 6. They also told us why not just sleep 3 to a bed. Let me see the room was $200 a night. That is insane! Luckily there was a love seat someone slept on (sarcasm in my voice). As I was standing there trying to negotiate with the very unhelpful and unapologetic person on the other side of the counter, I couldn't help but feel like I was in a Seinfield episode. "I made a reservation. The point of making a reservation is to have the thing you reserved when you reserve it. That is why you make the reservation...."

The 2nd part of this trip was... someone got a wild hair and decided we should stay another night. Definately not in that hotel. It was the Eldorado by the way. So a friend put us up that lived and hour away. We all have children and responsiblities, but somehow we all decided our husbands could handle it. Whoa, what were we drinking? Needless to say we got home at 5pm SUNDAY afternoon. I don't know when I felt so "unihibited" since my children have been born. A little like Thelma & Louise without all the drama.
