Record Breaking ...not always a good thing

Wow are things ever crazy in this world. Sometimes I just wonder if it will ever be nice and normal again. Crazy weather, crazy gas prices. I had to make sure I wrote this down so I didn't forget. Two records set today. Oil hit $70 a barrel, that can't be good for the pocket book. A record was set 101 degrees in Dallas. Wait a minute I thought this was April. Okay, I am freaking myself out a little. I think I'll start focusing on tomorrows blog and write something more upbeat.

Hold on to your hats!

It has been a busy week. I had a birthday on the 4th. I never have to cook the week of my birthday because we go out and celebrate with different people. This weekend we were childless so my husband and I went on my birthday "date". There is just so much I wanted to do and only 24 hrs to do it in. We went to see Benchwarmers and had dinner, shopped and went to Cold Stone Creamry. Paid $12 for 2 ice creams. What is the world coming to? Oh yeah, I forgot... gas is $3 a gallon and NO hurricane this time. THAT is INSANE! Can you tell I'm upset maybe just a little.

Okay back to something fun.

Zoe had her 1st t-ball game Sat. It was like 40 degrees outside and the wind was blowing like 50 miles and hour. She was just so proud of herself and thought everyone was there to see her. She waved and smiled as she walked to the t-stand. Then waved and smiled as she ran to 1st base. She completed the run in to home base and gave her last pagent smile and wave as she walked to the dugout. She got a talking to once when she was doing ballet in the outfield. She did however manage to catch a ball. We were so proud.
Tonight was game 2. Pretty much a repeat of the 1st game except the weather was better and she actually realized the faster you drop the bat the better the chances you'll make it to 1st base without getting out. Tonight their game was at 7pm. It was a little late for the 4 year-olds to be out. Zoe was rolling around on the ground and Tim said he heard her telling the coach jokes. I know they are thinking "what is this kid doing here?"

Oh let me back up to Sunday night. William was playing his normal spin and slam myself into the floor routine. When is fell on his foot. We are holding our breath it isn't fractured. He isn't really wanting to try to walk on it. No ER trip thank goodness, but so far he isn't progressing anymore. Not having insurance sucks! My kids have to be pretty bad off before we take them to the DR. Which lately seems to be often. The sad thing is Tim thought I was freaking out because he hurt himself, which I was, but I was freaking out more about how much an ER visit might cost.
Oh well, I think that about sums up the week. I probably should do this more often, so it's not so long!

Goodbye Seven

Today is a sad day. The dog that we acquired a few months ago, (Seven) got hit by a car in front of my husbands eyes. I heard it from inside the house and only hoped it wasn't what I thought. I didn't really want him in the first place, because he was causing trouble and I knew we probably didn't need to take this on. He grew on me though. I can say I am truly saddened by this. The dog got dug out under the fence. We started to say that he ran away and we couldn't find him, but my husband decided it would be best for them to know so they wouldn't always wonder. I guess at some point they need to know what death is about. I was always told kids usually learn about this when they have a pet. My daughter who is 4 understood what happened and was very upset for a short time. She seems fine now. My son who is 3 didn't really get it. Thank goodness for their youth. It doesn't really let them feel that kind of pain. All they know is that Seven is in heaven playing with Prince (our other deceased dog) and God is taking care of them. I keep trying to tell myself that to ease the sadness.
