Mommie and Me

My mom took me to get a pedicure and manicure yesterday for my Mother's Day present. It was so nice and relaxing. I haven't had a manicure since I got married...10 years ago. Wow, time flies! The lady took a potato peeler looking thing a grated my feet. They are so smooth now. I have never seen so much dead skin! I told her since my children (they are 17 months apart) I didn't seem to be able to find the time (or money) to spend on myself. I always used to get pedicures. It was part of my beauty regimine. How life changes. I am so thankful to have a mom that knows I need a time out. We sat and had our nails done together and then went to eat dinner. It was so nice to visit and finish a conversation without someone interupting us for an injury, argument or just to put in their two cents. I love my Mom. She is my best friend in the whole world!

Happy Mother's Day!

I have to say that this was one of the best Mother's Day so far. (I have only had 4)
The weather was beautiful. I felt like I was in Colorado, my favorite place on earth. My 88 year old grandmother seemed to be doing very well and cooked the best meal she has made in a long time. My brother even got me a card. Oh My God!!! I can count on one hand the number of cards or gifts I have ever received from him. And to top it off it wasn't a goofy card that hides your love, it was a sweet card. That might have been the highlight of my day! Then we (my kids and husband) went to see "Ice Age 2". This was a really cute movie. I love taking my kids to the movies. They get so excited about going and getting Sprite, popcorn, and candy and I think about seeing the movie.
Later I visited my mother and then came home and watched a movie with my husband after the kids went to sleep very quickly. In my pre-children life this schedule of events would have been boring, but now it is something I look forward to.

Tuesday Fun

There is so much going on I find it hard to sit down and write it all. It isn't really anything interesting. I have been sick for the past few weeks....allergies AGAIN. If you suffer from seasonal allergies you know why they say "suffer". It is a misearable time of fatique, stopped up nose, loss of hearing and taste. I can say that they weight loss has been a good side effect. It seems to be getting better, maybe just a few more weeks. It is Tuesday night. I am so excited... finally a night I get to sit down and watch American Idol! I can't help it, I am addicted. I like when I can personally critic them and not just rely on the internet for judgement. I can say that they are usually on the money though.

Zoe and I had "girl" day today. We went to the donut shop and ate inside. This is a special treat because we usually only have enough time for the drive through. She had one with chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles, a chocolate eclair for me. She wanted a red "Koolaid Jammer", but I convinced her to get the blue because it matched her outfit. No I am not insane. I just didn't want her to get red dye on her blue outfit. I thought the blue might not stand out as much in case I couldn't "Shout" it out. Then we came home and planted a garden. Let me correct that. I planted it, she complained about her back hurting from pulling dead grass out of the dirt and how hot she was. She told me that she was the one that planted it not me. A four year old with an attitude, that's all I need.
