4 years

Today was my son's 4th birthday. It was such a great day. Every birthday my children have I always recall the day the were born. It is kinda like a count down to New Years or something. I look at the clock and think about how I was feeling or what was going on during that time. Then the time they were born and the time shortly there after I remember how I felt and what they looked and smelled like. Anyway....
I never knew what my life would be like 4 years from that day. You know like when you go to an interview and they ask you,"where do you see yourself in 5 years?". I had no clue how different it would be. I would be living in a new house, in a "new" town(moved back to where I was from), with great new friends, different job, daughter in kindergarten, and the list goes on. I had no idea I would end the evening with one of my oldest friends, who 4 years ago, I had lost touch with and didn't even know where she was. I had dinner with her family and recalled old times. Four years ago if you would have told me how I would spend this same day I wouldn't have believed it. I am so thankful for the blessings of family and friends, and I loved, loved, loved, getting to spend my son's birthday in this way!

Incredible Hulk

I left my son for 5 minutes today while I was putting on my make up. Something I do everyday. He will be 4 on Saturday, so I generally don't expect him to get into things. Today however we were getting ready to walk out the door to see his sisters play and he held his hand up to show me what he had done. He knew he couldn't hide it and was going to need help making it better so he went out on a limb and showed me the hand that he had covered completely with metallic green marker. Front, back, fingernails and all were green. He looked like he was starting to turn into the Incredible Hulk. I was just waiting for is hair to turn green and his clothes to start ripping off. Of course I freaked. I tried to get it off and then had to stop because I did not want to be late. I took him just like that with a green hand. I think that bothered him more than getting in trouble. He kept is hidden in his jacket the whole time and wouldn't show anyone. I couldn't for the life of me understand what possessed him to do that. When we got home I saw the outline of a hand on a piece of paper. I think that it started innocently and just got... out of hand. (ha ha)

Private Parts

I know it has been a long time. I have had so much I could have written about, but so little time.
This was short and sweet and had to write it. I get so many funny sayings from my children I thought I would take a minute and record them.
1. The other day Zoe was practicing for her school play and I clapped for her. She then looked at me and started clapping her hands in front of her body moving them in a circlular motion and said, "Let's give her a round of a paws."

Okay, a couple more.

2. She and William got baptized at church yesterday and she told me she got barabatized. I asked if she liked getting baptized and she said, "not really because the water dripped in my eye, (she was just sprinkled) but I really liked getting my picture taken."

3. We went to go dress shopping for the above listed baptism. While we were trying on clothes she went out to the big mirror and a lady was standing out there and told her how pretty she looked. This continued with each dress. Well by about the 4th dress she said, I hope that lady is still out there so she can tell me how cute I look. We went to the next store and the first thing she wanted to know when we got in the dressing room was if she could go out and look in the big mirror, and hoped that someone would be out there to tell her how pretty she was.

4. Tonight she was taking a bath. I asked her if she washed her face and she said, "yes". Then I asked her if she washed all of her private parts and she said, "yes". Not sure if she knew what I meant, I asked her if she knew what private parts were. She said, "yeah, I think it's your eyes, but I'm not sure where the rest of them are.

5. She was trying to sing Feliz Navidad, (you know Julio Eglasias) , and I couldn't even begin to spell how that goes.

Hope to write again. Soon, but Christmas is coming up so don't hold your breath!
